Immediately, Nietzsche came to my mind: "Be careful when you cast out your demons that you don't throw away the best of yourself." (Thus Spoke Zarathustra)
But then came the big disappointment. The advertising slogan really says: Form your identity. Ugh. My imagination was once again betrayed by a Freudian misread. These are moments when something in me gets angry, probably my brain. It found something funny and then it was just a false alarm. "Why is the world so bland and amorphous?" it asks.
Disappointments like this happen all the time. Here are a few examples from the recent past.
"Awkward-winning"
"One day, they decide to deepen their digital connection and arrange to meet in prison." (instead of 'in person', my own text by the way)
"After an apprenticeship as a chef, I accidentally worked for 17 years at Swiss Air..."
These are difficult moments for me. The abrupt change between euphoria over unexpected aesthetics to bitter disappointment over actual boredom. Whenever that happens, I have to cheer up my brain before I can get creative again.
